Sri Vanamali, Managing Partner
Sri Vanamali is the Managing Partner at GEX Capital. He has an extensive background in private equity, investment banking, and operational management spanning a 20 year corporate career driving growth and value creation strategies for both Fortune 100 and lower middle market businesses across a wide range of sectors.
Sri started his career as a management consultant with Infosys, where he spent over a decade consulting with Fortune 100 clients across the globe, including stints in the UK, Australia, Singapore, India and the United States. He then joined NMS Capital, a Beverly Hills-based private equity firm where he focused on lower middle market sector agnostic transactions that included leveraged buyouts, equity and debt capital markets.
Over the years, Sri has invested in several businesses with an emphasis on value creation and strategic transformation in both turnaround and hyper-growth situations. Some of these businesses, include Nuaxess, Quad M Solutions, Innovest Global and GEX Management, a management consulting company at which Sri currently serves as the CEO. Sri initially invested in GEX Management in 2018, when it was a low margin , back-end staffing firm servicing ASCs in Northern California, eventually building it into a back-office services business model (what has come to be known as the “MSO model” in today’s healthcare PPM ecosystems) and finally expanding it into a full-service strategy consulting firm, achieving over 1000% growth in revenue within a span of 5 years and expanding its client base by over 200% in this period along with achieving significant margin expansion.
In 2022, Sri launched GEX Capital to focus on lower middle market private equity transaction, primarily in business services and healthcare. The firm has recently signed its first two deals under LOI, and Sri is leading the investment process for each.
Throughout his career, Sri has built a reputation for his expertise in identifying value-add opportunities and executing on them through operational improvements, growth strategies, and strategic partnerships. He is known for his ability to leverage his extensive network of industry contacts and relationships to drive value for his portfolio companies.
Sri holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson and a Bachelors in Computer Science from the University of Madras. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and reading in his free time.
