Luis Cardenas, Investment Associate

Luis Cardenas is an Investment Associate at GEX Capital, where he is responsible for conducting transaction analysis and due diligence for prospective investments.

Prior to joining GEX Capital, Luis worked at Goldman Sachs & Co. in the Custody Support and Clearing team, supporting institutional investors in managing liquidity, and later spent four years with the Prime Clearing Middle Office team. During his tenure, he played a key role in mitigating client risk during system outages and implementing innovative solutions to enhance both client experience and operational efficiency. His ability to build strong client relationships and his attention to detail led him to become a trusted advisor for some of the firm’s largest broker clients.

Luis holds an MBA in Finance from UCLA Anderson School of Management and is a proud Posse Foundation alumnus. He earned his B.A. in International Business and Management from Dickinson College and broadened his global perspective through a semester abroad at Yonsei University, where he studied Korean and completed graduate-level finance coursework.

In his free time, Luis enjoys collecting sneakers, cooking traditional Mexican dishes, and making New Haven–style pizzas.
